Based on a scrappy quilt pattern, Janet over on Nuts about Needlepoint has reimagined the quilt design and turned it into this lovely project for needlepoint.  Instead of using fabric scraps she uses yarn.

This is an ideal project for all of that leftover yarn from other finished canvases.  The design is such a happy one too.  Who doesn’t love tulips, and this is a whole bouquet of them in varying colors.

To make this, you will need standard needlepoint supplies including 18-mesh canvas and various colors of thread.

A stitch chart is provided and the scotch and half scotch stitches are used.  To finish off the entire “quilt”  the tent stitch is used.  To help you out with color decision, Janet provides some helpful tips on choosing the right colors to get a successful look.

Tulips are such a happy flower and since the local chipmunks feast on any bulbs I have ever planted, I think that this design will be the only way I will ever get to see them.
