Melania Trump accused of White House Christmas card edit in bizarre Prince Charles theory | World | NewsDecember 22, 2020
The Trumps are pictured on December 10 wearing tuxedos and smiling on the White House’s Grand Staircase in front of festive decorations. It marks Mr Trump’s final Christmas in office with President-elect Joe Biden set to take over on January 20.
Mrs Trump shared the snap on Friday, with the caption: “Merry Christmas from President Donald J Trump and First Lady Melania Trump.”
Suspicious users claimed the image had been photoshopped, with floods of theories flooding in.
Some even compared the portrait to a snap of the pair with Prince Charles, taken in 2019.
One user wrote: “What a lovely photo (shop). Was Donald lifted out of a photo from this same meeting?”
Another wrote: “I’ve seen some pretty amateur photoshop jobs in my life, but this one takes it to a new level! No way this is not shopped!”
Another user wrote: “Weirdest cut and paste job ever seen.
“They both look two dimensional cut outs/ anime, superimposed onto a screen. DT’s face is from a prior photo. Bizarre until the very end.”
President-elect Biden said the “will of the people prevailed” after he officially won the US election last week.
Democrat Biden beat Republican Trump in November after projections showed he had passed the threshold of 270 Electoral College votes needed to win.
However, this was confirmed when California, the most populous state, delivered its 55 electoral votes to Mr Biden on December 14.
A source has told CNN that rumours Mr Trump, 74, will start campaigning for the next election “might not go over well” with his wife, 50.
Mr Trump has also retweeted the UK’s plans to introduce a new Tier 4 lockdown.
With it, he claimed lockdowns are “worse than the problem itself” alongside news of the Prime Minister’s announcement.
He tweeted: “We don’t want to have lockdowns.
“The cure cannot be worse than the problem itself!”
Mr Trump has also hit out at other European countries for announcing fresh lockdowns to combat the virus.
He said: “What the hell are they [Europe] doing?
“I think I’ll go over and explain it to them.”
