When it comes to fixed income mutual fund schemes, this challenge is often compounded by a sheer number of factors that can govern prices of the underlying assets bonds — government and corporate. The country’s growth, fiscal deficit, government borrowing, retail inflation, and the direction of monetary policy can all have a bearing on the movement of bond prices.
