Global Covid19 Coronavirus cases top 104 million
The total number of global Coronavirus cases has topped 104 million, with almost 2.8 million fatalities, according to John Hopkins University. The US is the worst hit country with the highest number of cases and deaths, 26,673,780 and 455,657 respectively.
Brazil currently accounts the second highest number of Covid19 fatalities at 228,795, followed by Mexico 161,240 on the third place and India on the fourth with 154,703 fatalities.
Meanwhile, the nations with a death toll above 20,000 are the UK, Italy, France, Russia, Spain, Germany, Iran, Colombia, Argentina, South Africa, Peru, Poland, Indonesia, Turkey, Ukraine, Belgium and Canada.
“Europe invested billions to help develop the world’s first Covid-19 vaccines,” EU chief Ursula von der Leyen told the virtual World Economic Forum (WEF). “And now, the companies must deliver. They must honor their obligations.”
